Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum to be open to public on Saturday during Shake the Lakes Show & Jazz Choir Festival

February 19, 2020

(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced that the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum in Arnolds Park will be open on Saturday so that those attending the Shake the Lakes Show and Jazz Choir in Spirit Lake can visit the new museum.

IRRMA Executive Director Clay Norris says the event this weekend will bring thousands of people to the Lakes Area:

“I think we’re expecting 2,000 students, and so you figure if each one of them brought their Mom or their Dad, that’s 2,000 more, so we may have 4 or 5 thousand people coming into town this weekend.  So, we’ve decided to open the Museum and it’s going to be open on Saturday to the public  from 9 am until 5 pm.  We’ve been working with Connie Valens, the sister of the late Ritchie Valens, and she’s got some special memorabilia that we’re going to display, so it’ll be really cool to see that.”

The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum is currently open Tuesday through Friday from 10-4 during the Winter Months.  The Museum is located adjacent to the Maritime Museum in Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
