Spencer Police Requesting Public’s Assistance Into Investigation Of Robbery Early Friday Of A Convenience Store

February 17, 2020

(Spencer)– Spencer police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a robbery that took place early Friday morning at the Casey’s General Store at 800 South Grand Avenue in Spencer.

Authorities say an armed suspect approached an employee who was opening the store shortly after 4:00 am. The suspect displayed a pistol and forced the employee inside the store where an undetermined amount of cash was taken. The suspect then forced the employee to drive him to a secondary location in Spencer where he fled on foot. A news release doesn’t mention where that was.

The suspect is described as a male 5’8” to 5’10” tall. He was wearing all black and a ski mask at the time of the incident.

Spencer police are asking anyone who has video security systems that record roadways or sidewalks to contact them at (712) 262-2151.
