Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club To Hold Special Event Wednesday (Feb. 19th)

February 17, 2020

(Everly)– The Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club is gearing up for one of its major events of the year. Club Secretary Barry Kruse says it will be held Wednesday evening at the Hap Kettlesen Center in Everly…IGL Fishing Club Event01

“Doors open at 5:30, a meal will be served at 6:00, seminar at 7:00 and we’ll have a big raffle after that, so no kid will go home without a prize. Our speaker this year is Johnny Candle. Johnny is a professional walleye fisherman from North Dakota and a professional guide at Devils Lake. But he’s been at this game a long time and I heard him speak a couple of times. He’s a very good speaker, very good at bringing fishing down to our level and talking about how to locate fish and structure and even things that a novice can look for, so this will be a seminar for all levels of fishermen.”

The event is free to club members. Non club members can attend the seminar for $10. Kruse says it only costs $25 a year to become a member…IGL Fishing Club Event02

“And that’s good for you, your spouse, your family, all kids under 17-years-old, so it’s a family membership, not just an individual membership. And that 25 dollars gets you lots of benefits throughout the year. A free meal that night. If you come to our other events, I think there’s four or five events where you get a free meal if you attend, throughout the year. Plus a lot of opportunities to get involved with kids.”

Again the doors for Wednesday’s event open at 5:30 pm with the meal at 6:00 and seminar at 7:00.
