(Spencer)– Seasons Center For Behavioral Health announced today (Fri.) enhanced mobile crisis services will now be available in Emmet county. Emily Rohlk, a Crisis Intervention Specialist, says it was made possible through funding from County Social Services Mental Health Region…
“The mobile crisis service allows our crisis staff to go out to the community and meet with individuals that have either been referred by law enforcement, schools, hospitals or clinics. We can meet with them, de-escalate any crisis situation, and then make referrals or recommendations moving forward, whether that be maybe inpatient care, or if we set up services on more of an outpatient basis, and then have them come into our clinic for services and then refer them on for other programs and services that we have here at Seasons as well.”
The services are also available in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth and Sioux counties. Rohlk says they’re seeing an increased demand for the services…
“Things started off slow but that’s kind of how it is with a new program and getting everyone aware of a new program and how to use things. But I’ve definitely seen it pick up lately and I think the more it gets out there the more busy we’ll be.”
Rohlk says Seasons Center staff who provide assistance through crisis and mobile crisis services undergo extensive training, which includes risk assessment, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques and other specific areas related to crisis services.
Seasons offers a 24/7 crisis line at 844-345-4569.
