(Spirit Lake)– A special event honoring those who have passed away and those currently in hospice care will be held Saturday, September 21st. The annual Walk/Run to Remember 5K event is being sponsored again this year by Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice, Schuchert Lentz Funeral Home and Turner Jenness Funeral Home.
The event will begin at 9:00 am at the east patio area of Lakes Regional Healthcare with an opening ceremony. The walk/run itself will begin at 9:30 am and proceed to the YMCA via Zenith Avenue, 28th Street and Sunner Avenue, then head back north along the trail on Highway 71, turning at Immanuel Lutheran Church, then north on Zenith Avenue back to LRH.
Individuals of all ages are welcome to participate. It is not a race or competition and walkers can take as long as needed to finish or walk as far as they are able. Snacks and refreshments will be served afterward.
Complimentary t-shirts will be distributed to the first 50 participants that come to the event.
