Dickinson Co. Supervisors Approve Wetland Project With Stipulations

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted five-to-nothing to approve a wetland restoration project proposed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service north of Superior.

The board took the action after learning that representatives of the NRCS met recently with a couple of landowners to address concerns they had over the project. The vote to approve the project has some stipulations attached to meet those.

Supervisors also approved two changeorders for the courthouse project totalling 13,347-dollars. It brings the total amount of changeorders so far for the project to $46,848. Bob Schlager, the county’s owner/representative on the project, says that’s a very small amount considering the scope of the project and the stage that it’s now in.

The supervisors also awarded a bid on a grading project for 160th Street between County Road M-56 and Highway Nine. The low bid of $193,735-dollars was submitted by Cohr’s Construction of Spirit Lake. It came in below the engineer’s estimate of $210,656.

The supervisors also reviewed a request for proposals for a phone system for the new courthouse. The system has an estimated cost of $150,000.
