(Spirit Lake)– Students at Iowa Lakes Community College will see their tuition increase in the upcoming school year.
Meeting Tuesday in Spirit Lake, the college’s board of trustees set tuition for residents at 108-dollars per credit hour for the 2006-2007 college year…up five dollars per credit hour from last year. Non-residents and international students will see their tuition go to 110-dollars per credit hour. Minnesota residents receive a waiver of non-resident tuition through a reciprocity agreement.
No mandatory fees were changed, although some other fees were adjusted to reflect the needs of the individual programs.
College officials say while they were pleased with the increased funding from the legislature this session, that it wasn’t enough to offset past losses in state funding.
ILCC trustees also Tuesday implemented the third year of a three-year contract with the college’s faculty association. It calls for a total package of 4.75 percent for the coming college year.
