Clay County Wreck Injures Two

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision early this (Friday) afternoon in Clay county sent two people to the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office says vehicles driven by 85-year-old Helen Daly of Moville and 26-year-old Scott Elrod of Sutherland collided at the intersection of County Road M-27 and Highway 10 at Peterson.

Daly and Elrod were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with unknown injuries.

A 2003 LeSabre driven by Daly was totalled; five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1987 S10 Blazer driven by Elrod.

Authorities say Daly was eastbound on Highway 10 and crossed the centerline to make a left turn onto County Road M-27 striking the westbound vehicle driven by Elrod head-on.

Daly was charged with failure to yield when making a left turn.

The mishap took place around 12:45 p.m.
