(Spencer)– A Nebraska man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run that took place early Monday in Milford.
Authorities say the suspect vehicle proceeded south into Clay county following the incident. A Clay county Sheriff’s deputy pulled over the vehicle. An investigation determined it had been involved in a rear-end collision with another vehicle at a stoplight on Highway 71 in Milford.
The driver, 27-year-old Jorge Luis Lazaro of Lincoln, Nebraska, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken to the Clay county jail and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; failure to have a valid driver’s license and failure to prove security.
The incident took place shortly after 2:00 a.m. Monday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
