(Des Moines)– A Clay county teen finished near the top in the Iowa State Fair Queen coronation held this past Saturday.
17-year-old Courtney Smith of Webb was named third runner-up. She is the daughter of Nick and Angie Smith of Webb.
As third runner-up Courtney received a 300-dollar scholarship and a 100-dollar savings bond.
The title of Iowa State Fair Queen this year was bestowed upon 19-year-old Lydia Beck of Black Hawk county.
