(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake woman was injured this (Monday) morning when a car collided with the bicycle she was riding at the corner of 23rd Street and Peoria Avenue in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say 55-year-old Kathryn Fitzgerald of Estherville was driving a 1999 Pontiac southbound on Peoria Avenue and was attempting to make a right-turn onto 23rd Street when she collided with an eastbound bicycle in the crosswalk ridden by 43-year-old Penny Brockshus of Spirit Lake.
Brockshus was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with a knee injury. No injuries were reported to Fitzgerald.
No citations were issued.
The mishap took place shortly before 8:00 a.m.
