Additional Charges Filed In Osceola Burglary Case

(Sibley)– The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has filed an additional charge against two Worthington, Minnesota men in connection with a burglary from a farm site on Highway nine in Osceola county.

36-year-old Brad Mayefske and 45-year-old Scott Amundson had originally been charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony.

Based on evidence obtained by executing three search warrants on various locations in Worthington, the two men have now also been charged with theft in the fifth degree…a simple misdemeanor.

Authorities say the searches resulted in officers locating and seizing property alleged to have been stolen in the Osceola county burglary.

Mayefske was also originally charged with possession of methamphetamine…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of contraband…a class “D” felony.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the burglary around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday. Mayefske and Amundson were apprehended a short time later.

They remain in the Osceola county jail.
