(Des Moines)– State Senator David Johnson of Ocheyedan has been named a ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee for the 2007 legislative session.
Johnson will oversee issues such as value-added agriculture, livestock production and renewable fuels.
Johnson has been the top republican on the Senate Agriculture Committee the past four years.
He will also continue to serve on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and the Environment.
Johnson is also a member of the state Watershed Improvement Review Board and the state Watershed Quality Task Force.
Johnson, who was elected an Assistant Minority Leader for the upcoming session, will also serve as a ranking member of the Health and Human Services Budget Subcommittee and will continue to serve on the Senate Appropriations, Education and Human Resources Committees.
