(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors started the new year Tuesday with a couple swearing-in ceremonies.
One was for Jan Bortscheller, who was re-elected County Recorder in last November’s election; the other for Kris Rowley, who was elected County Treasurer.
The supervisors also approved the appointments of several deputies in the Treasurer’s Office, as recommended by Rowley. They include Julie Lande for the motor vehicle division; Jackie Carpenter for the tax division and Michelle Caskey for the driver’s license division.
The supervisors also approved the hiring of Kris Klein to a part-time opening in the County Attorney’s office created as a result of Rowley being elected County Treasurer. The hiring is retroactive to December 26th, 2006.
