Spencer School District Patrons To Decide Fate Of Instructional Support Levy

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Voters in the Spencer School District will head to the polls next month to decide the fate of an Instructional Support Levy.

The school board Wednesday adopted a resolution setting February 13th as the date for the special election.

If approved, it’s estimated the levy would generate an additional 450-thousand dollars a year.

The levy would be in effect seven years and would not exceed seven percent of the district’s total regular program cost.

School officials say the additional revenue would be used for additional curriculum offerings and to hire two additional teachers to reduce class sizes in the upper levels of the elementary.
