Single-Vehicle Mishap Results In Charges Against Milford Man

(Spencer)– A single-vehicle mishap early Saturday resulted in minor injuries and several charges against a Milford man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Matthew Reason of Milford was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am on County Road B-14 when he lost control just west of the intersection with 170th Avenue. The vehicle went into the north ditch and rolled several times.

Authorities say Reason was able to get out and left the scene prior to authorities arriving. He later turned himself in to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Reason was charged with driving while barred, no insurance, failure to maintain control, minor in possession of alcohol and open container.

The vehicle was totalled.

The crash took place around 3:00 a.m. Saturday.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spencer Police Department, Fostoria Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance.
