(Des Moines)– Time is running out for those who have unclaimed winnings in the Iowa Lottery.
Officials say more than nine thousand dollars went unclaimed in Dickinson county during fiscal year 2006. Statewide, nearly 1.2 million was left unclaimed.
Lottery officials say prizes in Powerball and Hot Lotto may be claimed up to a year after the drawing. Prizes in Pick Three, Pick Four and Iowa’s 100-thousand dollar Cash Game must be claimed within 90 days of the drawing. Instant prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the end of the game.
Officials say any money left unclaimed after the redemption deadlines is invested in future prize pools.
