Slick Roads Result In More Mishaps Sunday, Early Monday

(Worthington, Mn.)– Motorists had another tough go of it Sunday night and early this (Monday) morning in southwest Minnesota due to slick roads.

A single-vehicle rollover around 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 90 east of Worthington sent two people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 27-year-old Zachary Grant of Sioux Falls lost control of a westbound 1993 Buick which left the ice-covered road, went into the median and rolled.

Grant and a passenger, 21-year-old Samuel Lane of Sioux Falls, were treated for minor injuries and released from the Worthington hospital. No injuries were reported to a third passenger in the vehicle.

Moderate damage was reported to the vehicle.

Three people were injured in a single-vehicle rollover around 11:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 60 northeast of Worthington.

The State Patrol says 21-year-old Amber Konz of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota lost control of a 1996 Buick Century which left the ice-covered road and rolled.

Konz and two passengers, 21-year-old James Konz of Mankato and April Konz, address unknown, were taken to the Worthington hospital where they were treated and released.

Moderate damage was reported to the vehicle.

And a two-vehicle collision shorly before 12:30 a.m. this (Monday) morning on Interstate 90 west of Worthington resulted in minor injuries to two people.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Andrew Brower of Canton, South Dakota was eastbound when he lost control on the ice-covered road and collided with an unattended vehicle parked on the left shoulder. Both vehicles wound up in the median.

Brower and a passenger in his vehicle, 21-year-old Allison Nerness of Windom, were taken to the Worthington hospital where they were treated and released.

A 1997 Ford Escort that was parked unattended was totaled; severe damage was reported to a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Brower.
