(Emmetsburg)– An ongoing drug investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and the Emmetsburg Police Department has resulted in another arrest.
Authorities say 22-year-old Timothy Edward Powers of Ames, formerly of Emmetsburg, was recently arrested on warrants for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Both are class “D” felonies.
The charges stem from a delivery of marijuana back in May and June of 2005 that allegedly took place within a thousand feet of the Emmetsburg Elementary School and in Harrison Park.
Powers also faces a five-year enhancement for each delivery in the drug-free zones.
Powers was arrested February 14th in Ames and was released after posting bond of nearly 10-thousand dollars. He’s due in court at a later date.
Palo Alto County Sheriff Dennis Goeders and Emmetsburg Police Chief Eric Hanson say their investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
