(Spencer)– Another scam involving Medicare is making the rounds in northwest Iowa.
Laura Huffman, a Client Advocate with the Spencer-based Northwest Aging Association, says a man with a heavy hispanic accident has been calling some Medicare recipients saying they need to get another card. Huffman says the perpetrator is asking for bank account information, which should never be given over the phone or internet.
Huffman says if you get such a call you should simply hang up.
