Rock Rapids Man Accidentally Shot In Eye With B-B In Clay Co. Incident

November 22, 2014

(Fostoria)– A Rock Rapids is recuperating after being accidentally shot in the eye last week with a b-b.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to 2115 280th Street near Fostoria last Wednesday where 18-year-old Joshua Merry of Rock Rapids was being treated by paramedics. He was then taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.

Authorities say Merry and another male had been hunting. They say a b-b fired by the other man apparently ricocheted, hitting Merry in the eye.
