November 22, 2014

(Fort Dodge)– A Fort Dodge judge has been named Chief Judge of the Second Judicial District, which includes northwest and north central Iowa.

Judge Kurt Wilke was appointed to the position Monday, succeeding Jon Stuart Scoles, who was appointed to a federal court position.

As Chief Judge, Wilke will supervise judicial officers and court employees, set court schedules, designate presiding judges and help advise the state supreme court. He will also continue to preside over cases.

Wilke’s district is the largest in the state and is comprised of 22 counties.
