November 22, 2014

(Des Moines)– If you’re going to be needing the service of a driver’s license station anytime in the near future, there’s something you need to know.

The Iowa Department of Transportation says services at the stations will be interrupted over the next couple of weeks to install new computer software. Officials say it will provide better protection against fraud and identity theft, along with providing up-to-date information about your driving record.

The licensing station in Spencer will be closed to the public beginning at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12th and will remain closed through Monday, April 16th.

Driver’s license stations at County Treasurer Offices in Osceola, Pocahontas and Sioux counties will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12th. Service in those counties will resume Monday, April 16th.

Driver’s license stations at County Treasurer Offices in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Lyon, O’Brien and Palo Alto counties will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12th through Monday, April 16th, with services to resume in those counties Tuesday, April 17th.
