Teens Charged In SL Taco Johns Burglary

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against two juveniles in connection with a burglary earlier this week at the Spirit Lake Taco Johns restaurant.

Through the use of surveillance cameras, police say they were able to determine the burglary happened between 8:07 p.m. and 8:16 p.m. Sunday, April 15th.

Entry was gained by breaking out a glass door.

An undetermined amount of cash was reported missing.

A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old male from Spirit Lake who was charged with burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony.

A 17-year-old male from Dickens was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary…also a class “D” felony.

Both teens were transported to the Youth Emergency Services Center in Cherokee.

The incident was reported to police Monday morning.
