(Rye, N.Y.)– The same company that owns Spirit Lake-based Pure Fishing is growing some more.
Jarden Corporation announced today (Wednesday) it’s buying Carlsbad, California-based sporting goods maker K-2. It’s a cash and stock deal valued at about $15.50 a share, or nearly 766 million dollars.
Including assumed debt, the deal is valued at 1.2 billion dollars.
Jarden officials say the acquisition fits with the company’s strategy of acquiring niche brands.
K-2’s brands include Penn, Rawlings and Stearns.
The acquisition is expected to close early in the third quarter, subject to K-2 stockholder and antitrust approvals.
Jarden Corporation acquired Pure Fishing April 6th of this year.
