(Milford)– A Milford man faces a multitude of charges stemming from an incident that allegedly took place early Sunday at a residence on 260th Street southwest of Milford.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Shane Laursen of Milford was taken into custody Sunday near Sutherland by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. He was wanted on seven Dickinson county warrants.
Laursen was charged with kidnapping in the first degree…a class “A” felony; sexual abuse in the second degree…a class “B” felony; two counts of burglary in the second degree…class “C” felonies; burglary in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor; and false imprisonment…a serious misdemeanor.
Laursen was transported to the Dickinson county jail where he’s being held on 158-thousand dollars bond.
According to court documents, Laursen allegedly threatened a female victim with a weapon he was holding in his right hand that authorities say “could have seriously injured, maimed or killed”.
Laursen is also accused of sexually assaulting the woman.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Milford and Arnolds Park Police Departments.
