(Spirit Lake)– Four thousand pounds. That’s how much food was collected this past Saturday by Spirit Lake letter carriers who participated in a national food drive put on by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Ken Henderson is the association’s local President. He thanks everyone who donated, along with the Girl Scouts who helped pick it up, and sponsors of the event.
The food that was collected locally will go to the Upper Des Moines Opportunity food pantry in Spirit Lake.
