(Okoboji)– The Lakes Art Center has a new name.
John Goodenow, President of the LAC’s board of directors, announced this (Wed.) afternoon the facility has been re-named the “Pearson Lakes Art Center” in honor of Bud and Bev Pearson and their family for decades of giving and support.
Goodenow says naming the facility in honor of Bud Pearson and his family is long overdue, saying such a facility wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Bud and his family.
Perry Pearson, speaking on behalf of his father, Bud, said they were deeply moved by the honor and are grateful to the board of directors. Pearson went on to say the facility and its success was “made possible through the generosity and dedication of a lot of loving members. It’s the 1,300 members, managment, staff and volunteers that make our art center the success it is”.
It was also announced today (Wed.) that the grand opening gala for the new addition to the Pearson Lakes Art Center will be held Friday, July 13th.
The two new galleries will be named the Bud and Bev Pearson Gallery and the John and Karen Goodenow Gallery.
Lissa Potter, Director of Visual Arts, says the new upper level gallery will permanently house the collection of russian impressionists paintings that were recently donated to the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
