Car vs. Light Pole Injures Four

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A mishap Sunday in the Goodwill parking lot in Spencer injured four people.

Spencer police say 17-year-old Caitlynn Rouse of Spencer was westbound at a high rate of speed when she went over a hump in the road. Officers say Rouse told them she was going about 70 to 80 miles-per-hour when she hit the hump, causing her to lose control. The vehicle swerved and collided with a light pole.

Rouse and three passengers, 17-year-old Brittany Tuttle of Everly; 14-year-old Jordan Lee of Spencer and 10-year-old Jaden Rouse of Spencer, were taken to Spencer Hospital.

Caitlynn Rouse sustained incapacitating injuries; non-incapacitating injuries were reported to the three passengers.

Rouse was cited for reckless driving.

A 1996 Mercury she was driving was totaled; damage to the light pole was estimated at 500-dollars.

The crash took place shortly after 9:00 p.m.
