Large Manufacturer May Locate In Spencer

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation has launched a survey for potential manufacturing employees for a large company looking at possibly locating in Spencer.

That word from Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation President Kathy Evert.

Evert says the company manufactures fiberglass reinforced composite products. She says it’s a privately-held family business with operations in nine states and Mexico with about 1,600 employees.

Evert says the company has asked the Corridor to help document an available labor pool in northwest Iowa. She says the company seeks to fill 250 or more positions when in full production sometime in 2008.

Management and supervisory positions will be hired along with production positions. Starting pay will be between 10 and 13-dollars an hour, depending on experience, along with benefits.

Surveys are available at the Corridor’s office in the Gateway North Mall in Spencer or at its website at www.lakescorridor.com. They’re also available at Workforce Development offices in Spencer, Algona, Estherville, Orange City, Emmetsburg and Storm Lake.

Surveys are being accepted through July 13th.
