(Spirit Lake)– A cellular telephone company that serves the Iowa Great Lakes is about to change hands.
Cellular One is being acquired by U-S Cellular in a deal expected to be finalized later this month.
Eric Conlin is U-S Cellular’s Director of Sales for Iowa. He says Cellular One customers shouldn’t see any noticeable changes as a result of the transition. He encourages Cellular One customers to stop by a U-S Cellular store to sign up for a package similar to what they have now, or to inquire about upgrades.
Conlin says while the Iowa Great Lakes is new territory for U-S Cellular, that the company is no stranger to other parts of Iowa, where it’s offered service for quite some time now.
Through the transition, U-S Cellular will gain 12 Cellular One associates. The company plans to add 21 positions, bringing the total number of associates to 33 in northwest Iowa.
