Suspicious Vehicle Report Results In Charges

(Orleans)– What started off as a report of a suspicious vehicle early Wednesday morning in Orleans landed two people from Windom, Minnesota in jail on drug charges.

Spirit Lake police say the call was received around 1:00 a.m. of a suspicious vehicle on 240th Avenue in Orleans. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers determined the driver, 31-year-old Travis Mau of Windom, was intoxicated.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a substance alleged to be marijuana, along with some drug paraphernalia.

A passenger, 27-year-old Stacy Redmond also of Windom, was found to be in possession of a substance alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Both were taken into custody and booked into the Dickinson county jail.

Mau was charged with operating while intoxicated…third offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…third offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and open container.

Redmond was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.
