Okoboji Board Of Adjustment To Hear Appeal Of Inn Permit August 1st

November 22, 2014

(Okoboji)– The Okoboji Board of Adjustment has set August 1st at 5:00 p.m. as the date and time to consider an appeal of the issuance of a building permit allowing a major construction project at the Inn to proceed.

A group opposed to the project, Concerned Citizens of Okoboji, filed the appeal.

The August 1st hearing on the appeal will be held at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji.

The issue revolves around a 1973 special use permit that was granted to the Inn back when zoning came into place, allowing it to continue to operate as a resort in a residentially-zoned area. Those opposed to the Inn’s project say it would fly in the face of that special use permit. Officials with the Inn and city disagree.
