(Des Moines)– House Speaker Pat Murphy has selected State Representative Marcie Frevert of Emmetsburg to serve on the legislative committee that oversees the Iowa Public Employee Retirement System, or IPERS.
The statutory committee meets every two years to review and evaluate not only IPERS, but other public retirement systems including the Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa; the Department of Public Safety Peace Officers’ Retirement System; the Judicial Retirement System; and a system used by some teachers.
THe committee makes any needed recommendations to the Iowa General Assembly.
Frevert represents Emmet and Palo Alto counties and a portion of Kossuth county in the Iowa House.
