November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The search is on for a man wanted by Spirit Lake police on drug and theft charges.

Spirit Lake police say an officer made contact shortly after 2:00 a.m. Saturday outside a bar on Lake Street with a man identified as 25-year-old Beau Berge who’s from central Iowa. The officer made contact with Berge regarding a traffic violation.

Authorities say a subsequent investigation resulted in the officer finding a large amount of a packaged substance alleged to be marijuana on Berge’s person, along with a considerable amount of cash.

Berge was taken into custody and was booked into the Dickinson county jail on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

While at the jail, Berge became ill and was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Authorities say he was held there overnight and took off yesterday (Sunday) after being released.

Berge is described as a white male…six feet two inches tall; weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has numerous tattoos on both arms and hands, back and shoulders.

Authorities say Berge has ties to the lakes area, specifically Estherville. He was last known to be living in the West Des Moines or Bayard areas.

Berge is wanted on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; prohibited acts; possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.

Anyone with any information on Berge’s whereabouts should contact the Spirit Lake Police Department or your local law enforcement agency.

Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Arnolds Park Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
