(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county fared much better than counties to our east and north when it comes to Monday’s wind storm.
Larry Lago of the Dickinson County Farm Services Agency tells KUOO news most of the crop damage in Dickinson county was limited to the far northeast corner of the county. He says it’s still too early to tell if those flattened fields will be a total loss and what impact the damage will have on yields. Lago says some of the damaged corn could still rebound.
Lago says producers that were affected by Monday’s storm should contact their crop insurance carrier just to let them know.
Crop damage was much more extensive in Emmet and Jackson counties.
