(Des Moines)– Send offs are being held today (Friday) for five Iowa Army National Units mobilized for the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.
The sendoffs for about 330 soldiers are being held in Algona, Estherville, Fort Dodge, Peosta and Storm Lake.
The soldiers will go to Camp Atterbury in Indiana for additional training and preparation before leaving for Kosovo.
Three of the units are part of the 1st Battalion, 194th Field Artillery. The others are with the First Battalion, 133rd Infantry and the 334th Brigade Support Battalion.
