Dickinson Supervisors Approve Rezoning Recommendations

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The tiny unincorporated town of Montgomery is about to get a restaurant/bar.

The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved a Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation to rezone some land along a black top half-way between Highway nine and Montgomery from Agricultural to Highway Commercial to allow the establishment to locate in that area.

Amy Streit plans to open the establishment, which she says will have a seating capacity for about 100 people.

On another zoning issue, supervisors also Tuesday approved Planning and Zoning Commission recommendations to rezone land just west of Francis Sites for Butch Parks and Hawn Brothers, Incorporated. While the requests were filed separately, they are related in that the rezoning will allow Parks to access a boat storage unit through the Hawn subdivision instead of using Francis Sites Drive and 28th Street near the schools, cutting down on traffic in those highly traveled areas that are also frequented by pedestrians.
