Mn. Drug Bust Results In Two-State High Speed Chase

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– What started off as a drug investigation in Jackson, Minnesota wound up as a high speed chase that would eventually come to an end in Milford early this (Tues.) morning with the suspect fleeing the vehicle and being apprehended a short time later.

Authorities say it all started when the Jackson Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Sherman Street in Jackson where a series of drug buys had been set up. During a buy late Monday night, a suspect refused the command of officers, leading them on a high speed chase that went through Jackson, Heron Lake and Okabena. The pursuit eventually went south on Highway 86 into Iowa, continuing on Highway 86. The chase then proceeded onto Highway 71 in Milford where the suspect pulled over near the Dairy Queen, after going over atleast two sets of stopsticks earlier. That’s where 26-year-old Eric Sandoval of Storm Lake was taken into custody. Pending extradition from Dickinson county, Sandoval will be charged in Jackson county with fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and delivery of a controlled substance…methamphetamine.

Two other suspects were arrested in Jackson. 21-year-old Jennifer Ramey of Jackson and 26-year-old Joel Aguirre of Storm Lake were charged with the sale of a controlled substance…methamphetamine.

Jackson county autorities say this is the third high speed chase this summer that originated in that county.

The Jackson Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, the Windom Police Department, the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, the Heron Lake Police Department, Lakefield Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, the Milford, Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park Police Departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
