(Spirit Lake)– A special honor for an employee of the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee store.
Javier Morales-Meza, who works in the kitchen of the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee store, has been selected a 2007 Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award recipient.
The program recognizes employees who have gone above and beyond when it comes to taking care of customers. Winners enter the Hy-Vee Legendary Service Hall of Fame, established solely for award recipients.
Tony Byington, a Hy-Vee Food Service Supervisor, is among those who submitted Morales-Meza’s name for consideration. Byington tells of one customer, an elderly gentleman whose doctor is in Sioux Falls. Byington says Javier, or “Javie” as his friends call him, has driven the customer there and back on his own time.
In addition to the Hall of Fame induction, “Javie” will receive a Legendary Customer Service name badge and a custom-designed ring.
The native of Vera Cruz, Mexico will also be the guest of honor at a company service award dinner in October, which honors employees for longevity of service.
