(Jackson, Mn.)– Jackson County Attorney Robert O’Connor says a repeat sex offender has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
O’Connor says the sentence was handed down against 43-year-old Ricky Lee Wehmeyer following a conviction for criminal sexual conduct in the second degree for an incident in October, 2005 in Lakefield involving a five-year-old girl.
Under Minnesota statute, O’Connor says a life sentence means the offender is not eligible for parole for 360 months.
Wehmeyer had been previously convicted in September of 1990 of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree for an assault on a Jackson county woman. He was also convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree on September 1st, 1995 in Rice county, Minnesota for the sexual assault of a ten-year-old girl.
The latest was Wehmeyer’s third criminal sexual conduct conviction.
Wehmeyer is a native of Windom.
