(Butterfield, Mn.)– A three-vehicle collision on Highway 60 two miles west of Butterfield, Minnesota has claimed the life of a Jackson man.
The Minnesota State Patrol identifies the victim as 24-year-old Ryan Laabs.
Authorities say Laabs was driving a vehicle westbound and 29-year-old Heather Jensen of New Ulm was eastbound when the two sideswiped each other. The vehicle Laabs was driving then collided head-on with a third vehicle, driven by 30-year-old Mathew Wendland of Sartell, Minnesota.
Wendland was taken to the Windom hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
A 1989 Honda passenger car driven by Laabs and a 2003 Dodge driven by Wendland were totaled; moderate damage was reported to a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Jensen.
The mishap took place shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
