(Undated)– It’s the middle of October and the days are numbered for road construction.
Two major projects are currently underway in the Iowa Great Lakes, and crews are hoping the weather holds for atleast another couple weeks to get them wrapped up.
In Spirit Lake, work continues on a sanitary sewer project on 23rd Street near Lakes Regional Healthcare. Traffic is being detoured around that area.
In Milford, a concrete patching project is underway on Highway 71 through town. Traffic is still being allowed through the construction zone, but it’s been narrowed to one lane in each direction.
According to weather records compiled by KUOO, there was a trace of snow on the ground already a year ago.
No snow is in the forecast, but the National Weather Service says we can expect rain, and maybe a lot of it, during the latter part of the weekend and into early next week.
