Two O-H-S Band Members Selected For All-State Music Festival

(Milford)– Two Okoboji High School band members have been selected to play in the 2007 Iowa High School Music Association’s All-State Music Festival…the highest honors a high school musician can achieve.

Samantha Peter and Katelyn Warburton will represent Okoboji High School in the festival concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17th in Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

Peter, who plays clarinet, is a second-year all-state band member. She is the daughter of Chuck and Robyn Peter.

Warburton, who plays bass clarinet, is a second-year all-state band member. She is the daughter of Joe and Diane Warburton.

About 6,500 students from more than 350 Iowa schools auditioned for the 600-member All-State Chorus, 200 member All-State Orchestra or the 280 member All-State Band.

Students accepted to the All-State Music Festival represent the top 1.5 percent of Iowa High School musicians.
