(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake residents are reminded it’s illegal to burn leaves in the city.
The city adopted an ordinance several years ago banning leaf burning and other forms of open burning.
Officials say they’ve been getting a few reports in recent days of people burning leaves. If caught, you’ll be told to put out the fire. Repeat offenders will be subject to a fine.
Bags for leaf disposal can be purchased at city hall. They can be placed at the curb for pick up by city crews.
