Vacation Okoboji Honored

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– A publication that promotes tourism in the Iowa Great Lakes has received a top honor.

Vacation Okoboji received the Tourism Consumer Publication of the Year Award from the Iowa Tourism Office and the Iowa Department of Economic Development.

Abbey Larson of the Okoboji Tourism Association says they were presented the award earlier this week at the Iowa Tourism Conference in Dubuque.

Larson says they were nominated for the award by their peers, making it all that more special.

Vacation Okoboji was singled out for it’s growth over the years…starting out with just 48 pages. It has since grown to 142 and has added a number of new features, such as a calendar of events and maps of lakes area cities.

Larson says they’re looking at adding additional features to the publication in upcoming years.

This is the sixth time Vacation Okoboji has been named the top tourism publication in Iowa.
