(Sibley)– Two men have been sentenced after pleading guilty to sex abuse charges in Osceola county.
27-year-old Jorge Eduardo Mercado of Worthington was sentenced to no more than 10 years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this month to sexual abuse in the third degree. The charge stems from an incident on November 18th of last year in Osceola county in which Mercado was accused of having sex with someone against their will.
37-year-old Eric Rivadeneira of Sibley pleaded guilty previously to sexual abuse in the third degree. He was sentenced to no more than 10 years in prison, which was suspended. He was placed on probation for two years and was ordered to undergo treatment.
Rivadeneira was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old female back in April of this year.
