(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a collision earlier this week involving a pickup and a semi that injured a Spencer man.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a 1977 Chevrolet pickup driven by 59-year-old Ulysses Stevens of Spencer and a 2004 Kenworth semi tractor/trailer driven by 57-year-old Carl Reeves of Ontario, Canada collided at the intersection of Highway 18 and Clay County Road M-50. Authorities say Stevens was westbound on Highway 18 and Reeves was attempting to turn onto the highway from the county road when the collision took place.
Stevens was transported by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with upper torso injuries. No injuries were reported to Reeves, who was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
2,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the pickup driven by Stevens; no damage was reported to the semi tractor driven by Reeves, but the trailer sustained an estimated five thousand dollars in damage.
The mishap took place shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
