(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake school board Monday evening discussed but took no action on the possibility of sharing football with Okoboji.
The discussion came on the heels of a joint public meeting the two districts held last week.
Spirit Lake Superintendent Doug Latham tells KUOO news he and Okoboji Superintendent Bob Miller identified several possible options coming out of that meeting. Among them, he says, is one that would phase in a shared program beginning with the lower grades. He says they’re checking with the Iowa High School Athletic Association to see if that’s allowed.
Latham says it’s likely they’ll be holding additional meetings once they find that out.
