Drug Investigation Results In Arrest Of Estherville Man

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– An Estherville man faces charges for allegedly delivering drugs to a location near a school in Emmetsburg.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Cory Weets of Estherville has been charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance within a thousand feet of the west elementary school in Emmetsburg. Both counts are class “D” felonies with a five-year mandatory sentence for the school zone enhancement.

Chief Deputy Todd Suhr tells KUOO news the arrest is in conjunction with a 16-month investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office into illegal drug trafficking in the county.

Suhr says the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Emmetsburg Police Department.
